Work and Play Time

Image
Rohit S Does your workplace incorporate play time? There are numerous studies which show happier employees can easily connect with the organization members. Often challenges help to clarify processes, understandings, and a wealth of knowledge. I have incorporated many timed challenges and creative tasks to add excitement to meetings. The result was increased learning and development! Employees were smiling and appreciated the tasks involved. With times challenges I added procedural based Q and As. Because they are timed, it was easier to add True and False provided the situation. There was awesome comradery built when sub teams were made within the team. The overall group dynamic and the challenges helped with  collaboration. Even the less social were able to effectively voice their opinions and share their ideas. I agree with Ed in the published article called: 5 Games for Building Office Camaraderie. He stated games help to understand shared experiences (Graziano, ...

Benefits of Socializing

Image
Who does not socialize at their work? I encourage all the readers to start to socialize with their teams! The benefits are endless! What is even inspiring is that socializing can enable stronger customer service. For instance, Monica stated strong alliances are formed. I continually look for new ways to meet demand constraints (Monica, 2018). With the help and collaboration of other departments, the solution is closer! This means better decision-making, results, productivity, and profitability. Networking has been so easy and a great way to find better ways to identify underlying gaps. A person from customer service collaborating with the information technology department can create user friendly interfaces! The next time there are team recognitions…please take the time to acknowledge achievements! This helps to keep the motivation going. Please share your team recognitions and personal achievements. How was it celebrated? How did it impact the team? Great ideas...

Organization Is Key!

Image
Companies are evolving new ways to become better organized. Here is your task: Examine your company organization strategy. Post your comments below under Add comments. Empowering employees from all types of roles allows for better decision-making process. In my perspective talented professionals are being recruited for a reason. They come from a wealth of experience, accreditation, and respected networking. According to Kevin, he stated the brainstorming technique which I think is similar to Alex Osbornes Creative Problem-Solving Model. It encourages open communication. There is no right or wrong. Everyone has the right to voice their idea and solutions are tested for feasibility. It is that simple! Organizations are built around customers. Kevin believes it is a good idea to allow customers to provide the problems and not the solutions. A well diversified team can produce viable solutions (Schulte, 2012). I reflect to this and it really works! Really taking the time using a...

Why Is Communication Important

Image
Effective communication is the key to open the door to many solutions. Poor communication can inhibit a team from moving forward. I have the wonderful opportunities present throughout my careers which enables me to communicate daily using multiple sources. According to Patrick, he stated there are three steps to improve workplace communication (Bosworth, 2018). I truly believe in the awareness stage. Being aware means the individual understands his/her communication. I understand my strengths and opportunities for growth. It all starts if an individual can understand their communication impact towards people. We must take into consideration the we way speak which includes our volume, inflection, tone, articulation, language used, and speed. The second stage helps with understanding communication within various members. Various job skills may require an individual to comprehend and respond at different levels. A marketing professional may communicate with creativity and animation....

Well Diversified Teams

Image
Recruitment and selection is very critical to an organization success. Recruiting talented employees from various backgrounds, cultures, age, and personalities can have numerous benefits. This is the reason why diversity is extremely important. Dynamic teams can perform much better when challenged with a problem. According to Alec, he stated diversity allows for free flow brainstorming which is acceptable: “By being more inclusive and supporting workplace diversity, you can create an environment where innovation and a different way of thinking are brought to the table by employees with culturally diverse backgrounds” ( Grey, 2013). I equally work in a high performing team environment. When everyone offers different skill sets, then it makes accomplishing the task more creative.   For example, there was a meeting for procedural reviews. Employees with various skill sets from analytics, computer science, and marketing made accomplishing the task fun! A marketing professional ha...
